Welcome to my world. It’s a world of intrigue and mystery - that’s because half the time I don’t know what I’m doing.
Above these words are some visual examples of my exploits to date. They include my days as the Blue Peter astronomer, over which time I was also able to film in Hawaii as well as literally getting egg on my face. The marvellous black and white shot with long hair is me acting (loosely) as Isaac Newton in a film of his life (video clip in the Blue Peter section). There were plenty of other dressing up opportunities there too, such as an Egyptian astronomer, a crew member from Star Trek, an astronaut on Mars and as a featured artist on several Blue Peter pantos.
And look, Lorraine Kelly is holding up my first book, Simple Stargazing. This was on GMTV when I was talking about a solar eclipse that was happening as rain covered most of the country. That’s Life. That’s followed by the cover of the book’s Spanish edition and then my second book, Stargazing Secrets.
Now it’s all technologified and new simple stargazing is in the iBookstore for the iPad, which gives you plenty of swiping and pinching action.
My latest endeavours are based around three loves: designing, skiing and wine. The first two have been woven together into iconic art for those who love snow at Frozen Underground, while the latter sees me about the enter the next academic stage of my alcoholic journey as I undertake a Diploma in Wine (& Spirits!) known cryptically as WSET 4. Now, I need to mix all three together - that's a work in progress.
And why a dodgy picture of a television screen? Well, you know you’ve made it when your name appears on Sky planner ;-)

MY BOOKSIf you have ever wanted to know more about the night sky then here are the books you've been waiting for - honest. The first, New Simple Stargazing, is the friendliest introduction to the Night Sky I have ever written ;-) while Choosing and Using a Telescope is for those who may know little about the night sky and are about to ask this question: I’m thinking of getting a telescope, any suggestions? |
